Wesley Snipes Arrested

Wesley Snipes was arrested this morning upon arriving in orlando Florida, he was taken into custody while leaving a plane. It was said he worked out a deal with government officals, but apparent not. This all stems from his tax fraud case first reported in october of this year.

Actor Wesley Snipes, whose once-hot career has been undermined by personal and financial problems, was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury in Florida on charges of attempting to bilk the federal government out of almost $12 million by filing false tax refund claims.

The eight-count indictment handed up in U.S. District Court in Tampa also alleges that the star has not filed a return since 1999. Snipes, 42, could face as many as 16 years in prison.

"As widely reported, an incident in which Iranian-American student Mostafa Tabatabainejad was tasered up to five times by UCLA police on Friday, has been captured by a fellow student using a video enabled cell phone and published to YouTube. From the Daily Bruin: 'At around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Tabatabainejad, a fourth-year Middle Eastern and North African studies and philosophy student, was asked to leave the library for failing to present his BruinCard during a random check. The 23-year-old student was hit with a Taser five times when he did not leave quickly and cooperatively upon being asked to do so.'

Walter Jack Palance 1919 – 2006

His Career

His acting break came as Marlon Brando's understudy in Streetcar Named Desire. He eventually replaced Brando on stage as Stanley Kowalski.

In 1947, Palance made his Broadway debut, followed three years later by his screen debut, in the movie Panic in the Streets (1950). He was quickly recognized for his skill as a character actor, receiving an Academy Award nomination for only his third film role, as Lester Blaine in Sudden Fear.

Jack Palance earned his second Oscar nomination playing cold-blooded gunfighter Jack Wilson in 1953s cinema classic Shane.

The following year, Palance was Oscar-nominated again, for his role as the evil gunfighter Jack Wilson in Shane. Several other Western roles followed, but he would also play such varied roles as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dracula, and Attila the Hun.
In 1957, Palance won an Emmy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Mountain McClintock in the Playhouse 90 production of Rod Serling's Requiem for a Heavyweight.

Jean-Luc Godard persuaded him to take on the role of Hollywood producer Jeremy Prokosch in the 1963 nouvelle vague movie Le Mépris, with Brigitte Bardot and Michel Piccoli. Although the main dialogue was in French, Palance spoke only English.

While still busy making movies, in the 1980s, Palance also co-hosted (with his daughter Holly Palance), the television series Ripley's Believe It or Not.

Appearing in Young Guns (1988) and Tim Burton's Batman (1989) reinvigorated Palance's career and demand for his services kept him involved in new projects each year right up until the turn of the century.

Gerald Levert 1966 - 2006

Gerald Levert (July 13, 1966 - November 10, 2006) was an R&B singer, one of several from the musical Levert family. His father, Eddie Levert, is the lead singer of the 1970s soul group The O'Jays. Gerald Levert sang with his brother, Sean Levert, and Marc Gordon in the R&B trio LeVert. He was also apart of R&B musical group, comprised of legendary R&B artist Keith Sweat, Johnny Gill and himself called LSG.

During the 1980s and early 1990s, LeVert scored big hits with "Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop (Goes My Mind)", "Casanova", and "ABC-123" (not to be confused with the Jackson Five hit of the same name). As a solo artist, Gerald's hits included "I'd Give Anything (to Fall in Love)", "You Got That Love", and "Mr. Too Damn Good to You".
Gerald and Eddie collaborated together on many different occasions, and they recorded an album called Father and Son together.

Gerald Levert also sang the chorus on the Chris Rock spoken-word comedy piece, "No Sex (In the Champagne Room)".
In 2005, Levert's daughter Carlysia was featured on an episode of MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen.
Levert passed away due to an apparent heart attack on November 10, 2006.

Edward Bradley 1941 - 2006

Ed Bradley is co-editor of 60 minutes and a CBS news correspondent. Bradley joined the "60 Minutes" news-magazine during the 1981-82 season. Prior to 60 Minutes, he had been a principal correspondent for CBS Reports since September 1978, after serving as CBS News White House Correspondent since November 1976. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award grand prize and television first prize, the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award, the George Polk Award, and 11 Emmys.

Bradley was born June 22, 1941, in Philadelphia. He received a B.S. degree in education in 1964 from Cheyney (Pa.) State College.
