Rage Against the Machine, the seminal L.A. band that made heavy music into political manifesto, will reunite after a seven-year lull for one show as the headliners at the 2007 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Sources say Rage, which played the main stage at the first Coachella in 1999, will be joined by other familiar faces for the eighth edition of the festival, which covers three days this year and begins April 27: Red Hot Chili Peppers, which headlined in 2003, are back, as is Björk, who topped the bill in 2002.

You know whose opinion of the iPhone I never needed to get? Steve Ballmer's, that's who. Even more than Bill Gates, Ballmer's always represented just how little Microsoft understands what anyone but middle managers and IT professionals need and want. He proves it here.

And is there anything more annoying than one billionaire complaining about the "high," $500 price tag of a competitor's product? I really don't think so. Especially since it looks like Vista Ultimate edition will run a tidy $449 itself. I'll say this: If people don't need a $500 three-in-one awesomeness device, they really don't need to drop almost as much on an operating system.

Doran says: "Small transmitters have been found in Canadian coins carried by at least three U.S. contractors who have visited Canada. The existence of the coins was revealed in a report from the U.S. Defense Security Service entitled 'Technology Collection Trends in the U.S. Defense Industry.' (I found this from Slashdot)"
"On at least three separate occasions between October 2005 and January 2006, cleared defence contractors' employees travelling through Canada have discovered radio frequency transmitters embedded in Canadian coins placed on their persons," the report says.

The track in question is called 'Do it' and it is featured on the Nelly Furtado album 'Loose' on the Geffen label. Getting nowhere with Geffen, the demoscene has now risen to the aid of Tempest, first by creating a stir at SomethingAwful (files downloadable from the forum), then at Digg.com, then on YouTube, with a video demonstrating the blatant ripoff. Being an online-posting musician myself — what rights do I have if this should ever happen to me, and what can be done to raise awareness about such things?"

Comedian Eddie Murphy has won the best supporting film actor Golden Globe award for Dreamgirls.

He triumphed over a host of other big names nominated in the category such as Ben Affleck (Hollywoodland), Brad Pitt (Babel), and Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg (The Departed).

The Closer’s Kyra Sedgwick won the best actress award in the television drama at the Golden Globes in Hollywood.

She headed off competition from Patricia Arquette (Medium), Edie Falco (Sopranos), Evangeline Lilly (Lost) and Ellen Pompeo (Grey's Anatomy).

In the best supporting television actor category, Jeremy Irons won the award for his role in Elizabeth I.

Best supporting actress went to Emily Blunt for her work in Gideon's Daughter.

Sealand was founded as a sovereign Principality in 1967 in international waters, six miles off the eastern shores of Britain. In late June of 2006, the island suffered a devastating fire which destroyed much of the country's administrative centre and the main power generation facility which serves its population and industries. Fortunately, back-up systems exist which permit its activities to continue but the disaster has compromised significantly the quality of life of its inhabitants and the continued development of the island's economic and social growth.

The history of Sealand is a story of a struggle for liberty. Sealand was founded on the principle that any group of people dissatisfied with the oppressive laws and restrictions of existing nation states may declare independence in any place not claimed to be under the jurisdiction of another sovereign entity. The location chosen was Roughs Tower, an island fortress created in World War II by Britain and subsequently abandoned to the jurisdiction of the High Seas. The independence of Sealand was upheld in a 1968 British court decision where the judge held that Roughs Tower stood in international waters and did not fall under the legal jurisdiction of the United Kingdom. This gave birth to Sealand's national motto of E Mare Libertas, or "From the Sea, Freedom".

The official language of Sealand is English and the Sealand Dollar has a fixed exchange rate of one U.S. dollar. Passports and stamps have been in circulation since 1969 and the latter decade of the 20th century saw an impressive expansion in its activity both socially and industrially as it began to develop a growing economic base which underscored its long-standing membership of the international community of States.

It has been used for storing computer files by various companies (it's a micronation, they make their own laws, which means you can store all the illegal documents you want!). The torrent site Pirate's Bay has shown interest, even putting up a site about it. This truly amazes me...this just proves how important an education truly is!
